“Educating our children with the skills they need to live fullfilling lives.”

The Reception friends will be learning lots of clever things through the topics of “People Who Help Us” and “Transport and Journeys”. We will be learning about road safety, using road mats and our new play equipment and we will be thinking about our journeys to and from school.

We will use ICT to look at different ways people travel using our online Espresso site. We will recreate journeys using remote control toys and our new programmable friend “BEEBOT” will be introduced. To extend and develop this work we will also go on our annual school trip. (Dates and venue to be confirmed)

Our SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) theme of “Good to be Me” which encourages self esteem is continuing in order to allow you and your child to complete the “PROUD” homework activity. We plan to extend our provision for outdoor play opportunities as the nicer weather arrives and use the space to make use of our range of large outdoor play equipment.

More details of the planned learning opportunities are displayed on class notice boards. Pleases have a look at them and talk to your child about what they have been learning at school.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please come and speak to us.
