CHARACTERISTICS OF LEARNING (These are how children learn and develop)

  • PLAYING AND EXPLORING: Finding out and exploring, playing with what they know, be willing to have a go
  • ACTIVE LEARNING: Being involved and concentrating, keeping trying, enjoying achieving what they set out to do
  • CREATING AND THINKING CRITICALLY: Having their own ideas, making links, choosing ways to do things

All activities are carefully planned by staff to ensure that each child can be a resilient, capable and confident learner. Through the development of positive relationships and  happy, warm, secure learning environments each child will be able to learn and develop both as an individual, unique child and as part of our larger school family group. Themes are planned to follow children own interests, they start with what the children already know as the foundations on which future learning can be built.
