Science Week 2019 - Journeys

Fizz Pop Science Workshop!

We all took part in a 'Transport Workshop' presented by Fizz Pop Science!

The workshop allowed us to explore different modes of transport.  We went outside and watched an amazing rocket launch... we had LOTS of fun!

In Nursery, we talked about the life cycle of a frog and we sang a song together which linked to the life cycle of a frog.  We made a spinning helicopter in the classroom and we had to make it even on both sides and hook a paperclip at the top of it.

In Reception, we learned about caterpillars. We read ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and thought carefully about how caterpillars change into butterflies. We looked at symmetrical patterns on the wings of a butterfly and we thought about healthy eating and tasted some delicious fruits.

In Year 1, we discussed the life cycle of a frog.  We talked about different modes of transport and we had the chance to complete a toy car experiment finding out which was the best surface for a toy car to travel the furthest.  We observed the weather when we went on a Spring walk and made a moving Spring picture!

In Year 2, we discussed the life cycle of a ladybird and we drew pictures and wrote sentences to show this.  We went outside to find LOTS and LOTS of ladybirds in the school grounds which we were very excited about!
