“Educating our children with the skills they need to live fullfilling lives.”

We would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and hope that you all enjoyed a lovely Christmas break.

We look forward to the start of a brand new year here at Seaton Academy.

We would like to give a very warm welcome to all the new children who have just started in our Pre-school. We hope that you all settle into your new classes and that you enjoy being part of our school. The photographer will be in school on Monday 21st January to take the new Nursery children’s individual photographs.

Parent interviews will take place for all year groups on Monday 28th, Tuesday 29th & Wednesday 30th January. Appointments will be available from 3.20pm – 4.50pm on each day. (Nursery appointments will begin at 3.10pm, once Nursery has finished). Booking sheets will be in all classrooms from Monday 21st January. Please make sure that all parents/carers make an appointment to see their child’s class teacher.  It is important that all parents/carers are informed about how their child is progressing in school.

Our Breakfast club is open every day from 7.50am onwards. The cost of this is £5.00 which includes breakfast. There is no need to book, please just turn up as and when required. Entrance is at the front of the school, via the alleyway leading to Reception.

After school clubs run daily from 3.15pm to 4.15pm and cost £4.00 per session, we currently have spaces on the following days: Monday - Drama and Multi-skills, Thursday – Arts and Crafts. Booking is essential, please enquire at the school office.

Mrs Mary Hillery, whose son Cameron is in Reception would like to set up a ‘Friends of the Academy’ group with the aim of fundraising to provide extra opportunities and resources for the children in addition to those that the school already provide. If you are interested in joining this group and would like further details please e-mail Mrs Hillery at friendsofseatonacademy@hotmail.com or leave your details in the school office. Everyone is welcome, parents, grandparents and carers, all we need is enthusiasm and people who would like a more active involvement, although experience of charity work (especially in a treasury role) would be fantastic.

CHINESE NEW YEAR – 2019 Year of the Pig

During the week commencing the 4th February we will be celebrating the Chinese New Year with lots of activities. On Friday 8th February children can come into school wearing Chinese clothes or something red.

On Thursday 14th February we will be holding a Valentine’s party in the school hall, there will be a disco, games and a hotdog and drink. Tickets cost £2.50 and will be available from the school office on Monday 28th January.

Times for the parties are as follows:

Nursery and Reception – 3.15pm to 4.15pm and

Year 1 and Year 2 – 4.30pm to 5.30pm.

Please keep us informed of any changes to your address, mobile telephone number, or any other contact details. Lots of our information is sent out by text so it is very important that your numbers are kept up to date.

Save the children Christmas Jumper day – we collected £145 thank you to all who donated.

We also donated £100 to the Special Care Baby Unit at West Cumberland Hospital which was collected in lieu of sending Christmas cards.

Congratulations and best wishes to Miss Leggett who had a baby girl at the start of January.

Don’t forget our website (www.seatonacademy.co.uk) has lots of information and dates of events.

The Academy closes for February half term on Friday 15th February at 3.15pm, and re-opens on Monday 25th February at 8.50am.
