Autumn 1 – All About Me
Welcome back, we hope that you have had a lovely summer break and feeling refreshed ready for the new academic year.
We would also like to say a warm welcome to the new friends and families that have also joined our Nursery. We hope that you all enjoy your time at Seaton Academy with us and if you need any help, please feel free to approach a member of staff.
This half term our topic is All About Me. This topic will include exploring likes and dislikes, opportunities to get to know one another and much more.
We will be exploring different learning opportunities promoting finger muscles, mark making activities and much more.
We will also be focusing on colours, identifying colours through a wide range of different learning opportunities such as, messy play, colour mixing and other forms of learning and exploring such as the iPads, computers and games.
We aim to use the outdoors as much as possible, through most weathers. So please could we ask that your child has the appropriate clothing for the weather e.g. hat and sun lotion for the hot weather and a rain coat for the rainy days.
Each morning your child will have access to snack time. During this time, we promote socialising and they will have a wide range of fruit to choose from.
Once the children have settled into their morning routines, we then introduce small carpet time activities. These activities will include 'Wake and Shake', 'Squiggle Whilst You Wiggle' and 'Dough Disco'. These activities help promote co-ordination and finger muscles in readiness for early mark making.
If you would like any further information about this, please feel free to ask a member of staff.
We appreciate that the morning and let out routine has changed and that our ‘open door’ policy that we always aim to achieve can be a bit difficult at the moment, but please remember that we are always here to support you the best that we can and to answer any questions and queries that you might have.
If you would like to speak to a teacher, please just ask to speak to your class teacher and either an appointment will be made or a phone call to best suit you. You can do this by speaking to a member of staff, calling the school on 01900 66982 or emailing the office at email@example.com
and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
