“Educating our children with the skills they need to live fulfilling lives.”

During the Summer Term the Reception friends will be learning lots of clever things through the topics of “People Who Help Us” and “Transport and Journeys”. We will be learning about road safety, using road mats and our new play equipment and we will be thinking about our journeys to and from school.

We will use ICT to look at different ways people travel using our online espresso site. We will recreate journeys using remote control toys and our new programmable friend “BEEBOT” will be introduced. To extend and develop this work we are hoping we will also be able to go on our annual school trip to the “Lake District Wildlife Park” (Date to be confirmed)

Our SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) theme is “Relationships” and aims to explore feelings in the context of families and friends.

We plan to extend our provision for outdoor play opportunities as the nicer weather arrives and use the space to make use of a range of outdoor learning and play equipment. As the weather gets warmer please bring a cap or hat each day. Please also apply sun cream in the morning and send a named bottle of sun cream to be kept at school that we will help the children apply if required.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please come and speak to us.
