“Educating our children with the skills they need to live fullfilling lives.”

This is a very exciting time for us all! You are getting to know us and we are getting to know you and your children.

Successful transition into a new school or class is dependent upon lots of things, not least the building of strong home/school relationships. We aim to always work in partnership with you and are always available to answer any queries, questions or concerns.

Our chosen topic is “MYSELF” and this is chosen at this time in the year as it offers lots of opportunities for us to get to know each and every child and their particular likes and dislikes.

We will promote the need for a clear set of positive classroom behaviour expectations and each child will bring home a copy of our classroom agreement. Please take time to look at it and talk about it with your child.

More detailed curriculum information is displayed on notice boards in the cloakroom areas.

Please can we ask that book bags are brought into school DAILY. This is to ensure that reading books and diaries are available for staff to access to read with your child. We will send them home each night to encourage the children to share their books at home too. There is a guidance sheet for Developing Early Reading Skills included in your child’s home learning pack. (These will be sent home in the next week)

As the weeks progress you will see the walls fill up with pictures and photographs relating directly to the things the children have been learning in school. It is always nice to see the children telling someone about what they have been doing. So as they appear please feel free to spend a few minutes in the morning looking at what clever learning the friends have been doing.
