We had a visit from Spot the Robot Dog in our Friday assembly. Each year group loved to see Spot walk across the hall, lie down and use its laser sensors to move over objects. We learnt how the robots are used to perform, dangerous, damp and dark jobs at Sellafield that humans can not complete. Year 2 were then given the opportunity to explore Spot further. We each had a go at programming Spot to walk across the hall and pick up a milk carton! We were also introduced to a fish robot that was created to explore underwater. We took it turns having a go with the virtual reality programme that controls the underwater robot. Lots of children thought that they would really like to work with robotics when they were older at the end of this session.

Huge thank you to Deon Bulman and his team for this fantastic visit!
